The University of Glasgow is inviting applications for Joseph Lister Scholarships for Masters Programme.  Scholarships are available for all postgraduate taught, College of Medical Veterinary and Life Sciences.

The aim of the scholarship is to enable and encourage academically able students from any nationality.

The University of Glasgow is the fourth-oldest university in the English-speaking world and one of Scotland’s four ancient universities.

Applicants must obtain a degree equivalent to a UK 2.1 Hons or better.

Degree Level: Scholarships are available for all postgraduate taught, College of Medical Veterinary and Life Sciences.

Available Subject: Scholarships are offered in diverse fields to help students in upgrading their education.

Scholarship Benefits:  For September 2016 academic session our College is offering 3 scholarships worth the full tuition fee of a one year Masters programme.

Eligibility: These scholarships are open to international students applying to all on-campus programmes within the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences at the University of Glasgow here. Applicants will be evaluated on the basis of their application for admission. The criteria for the scholarships is as follows:

  • demonstrate academic excellence and achieve higher grades equivalent to UK 1st Class Honours

  • obtain a degree equivalent to a UK 2.1 Hons or better

Entrance Requirement: Applicants must obtain a degree equivalent to a UK 2.1 Hons or better.

English Language Requirements: Applicants from outside the home country will often need to meet specific English language/other language requirements in order to be able to study there.

How to Apply: Applicants must write a 400 personal statement (approx) and email this to mrio-scholarships-at-glasgow.ac.uk . The personal statement should detail

  • Why they have selected the programme at the University of Glasgow

  • Why they merit the funded-place (e.g academic/personal achievement)

  • How they will benefit from it (e.g. employment prospects, financial relief, etc)

  • Their personal statement should be around 400 words and include your full name and applicant number.


Deadline: Applicants will be automatically assessed for a scholarship based on academic merit. Applicants who are being considered  will be notified within the timeframes below. There is no separate application form required.

Applicants holding a programme offer by 1st December will receive their scholarship outcome by 16th December.
