Cardiff University is pleased to offer Studentship in Mathematics to undertake PhD degree programme. Studentship is awarded to students of any nationality. The overarching aim of establishing the Cardiff University was to transform the public higher education to improve quality and efficiency of teaching and learning, creating a world-class higher learning institution. Cardiff is established as one of Britain’s leading universities. Its ambition is to be among the top 100 universities in the world and top 20 in the UK. Applicants should have, or expect to obtain, a minimum of an upper second-class honours degree (2:1) or European equivalent and a Masters in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a related discipline. Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent).

  • This studentship consists of full UK/EU tuition fees, as well as a Doctoral Stipend matching UK Research Council National Minimum (£14,057 p.a. for 2015/16, updated each year). One studentship is available.



Eligibility Criteria:



The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for this studentship:




  • Academic criteria: Applicants for a studentship must have obtained, or be about to obtain, a Master Degree or MMath in Mathematics. A strong background in analysis is also required.

  • Residency: This studentship is open to students of any nationality. Students classified as international for fee purposes have to self-fund the difference between home and international fees.



Eligible Nationalities: Applicants of all nationalities are eligible to apply for this studentship programme.

  • Applicants for a studentship must have obtained, or be about to obtain, a Master Degree or MMath in Mathematics. A strong background in analysis is also required.



English language Requirements:




  • Applicants whose first language is not English will be required to demonstrate proficiency in the English language (IELTS 6.5 or equivalent).
