Applicants will have the opportunity to indicate their preference in the application regarding whether they wish to be hosted by the Development Research Department or the Impact Evaluation Department within the World Bank's Development Economics Vice Presidency (DEC).

Benefits

• The Robert S. McNamara Fellowship Program (RSMFP) provides a competitive financial package valued at $46,500 net of income taxes for the 2023-2024 cohort. This stipend is awarded to each fellow over the eight-month program and is distributed in monthly installments.

Visa Assistance:

• As fellows will be based at the World Bank in Washington, D.C., the World Bank's HR Operations unit will support selected candidates with their G4 visa application process.

Travel Expenses:

• Please note that the fellowship does not cover travel expenses.

Eligible Nationalities

This fellowship is open to nationals of World Bank WBG member countries.

Eligibility Criteria

The Robert S. McNamara Fellowship Program (RSMFP) seeks outstanding candidates who meet the following criteria:

• Language Fluency: English language proficiency is required.
• Academic Background: Master's degree (MA) in Economics or a closely related field. OR Currently enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Economics or a related field.
• Age: Applicants must be 35 years old or younger by June 30th of the year the fellowship begins.
• Relocation: Willingness to relocate to Washington, D.C. for the entire fellowship period is mandatory.
