2015 PhD Scholarships for Domestic and International Students, Macquarie University is offering PhD Scholarships in Nanomedicine for outstanding domestic and international students. These scholarships worth $25,849 to $29,849 per annum are tax free for up to three years depending on student’s experience and academic record. The last date of submission of application is 31 May, 2015.

Study Subject: Priority will be given to applicants with a substantial relevant experience/interest in the subject area (materials chemistry, self-assembly, material characterisation methods, nanomedicine, immunology).
Degree Level: Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD programme at the Macquarie University.

Eligibility:
Admissions requirements for higher degree research studies are outlined under the ‘Postgraduate Rules’ of the University’s Calendar of Governance, Legislation and Rules in the relevant Doctoral, Joint research degree and master by research degree sections.
From 1 January 2014, admission to Macquarie University’s Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program will have the following new requirements:

  1. Applicant to have completed the Macquarie University’s Master of Research (MRes) with at least 75% in second year of the MRes; OR

  2. Applicant to have completed a Master of Philosophy; OR

  3. Applicant to have completed Master’s degree from another institution with major research component. The size and length of the research thesis may vary, but it is expected to be of an equivalent scale and scope to the Macquarie University MRes thesis. Performance to be at Distinction level (75% or greater).

  4. All other peer-reviewed research output may be taken into consideration under Rule 7(10) of the University’s Higher Degree Research Rule for admission to the new PhD program.

  5. Candidates who have not completed an MRes degree and do not meet the above criteria may be asked to undertake the Master of Research as a research training pathway to the new Doctoral degree.  Candidates with previous study at Bachelor Honours or Masters level may receive credit towards the MRes for a maximum of 50% of the program. The period of candidature for the new PhD will be 3 years.
    Admission to the Master of Philosophy from 1 January 2014 will have the following new requirements:

  6. Applicants to have completed the Macquarie University’s Master of Research (MRes) with at least 65% in second year of the MRes; OR

  7. Applicants with Master’s degree (at least two years) from another institution with major research component (at least 50% thesis, approx. 20,000 words) at Credit level.

  8. In addition, all other peer-reviewed research output may be taken into consideration under Rule 7(10) of Macquarie University’s Higher Degree Research Rule for admission to the Master of Philosophy program. The maximum period of candidature for the Master of Philosophy will be 2 years.

  9. Candidates who have not completed an MRes and do not meet the above criteria may be asked to undertake the Master of Research as a research training pathway to the new Doctoral degree or the Master of Philosophy.  Candidates with previous study at Bachelor Honours or Masters level may receive credit towards the MRes for a maximum of 50% of the program.
