Government of Australia is offering Australia Awards for African Countries students. The Scholarships are for Graduate courses (Masters, PhD) and Short courses.
The Australia Awards in Africa (AAA) (formerly Australian Development Scholarships, ADS), an initiative of the Australian Government, is a pan-African program of development scholarships and fellowships that offers 1,000 postgraduate scholarships each year to eligible African professionals.
The Australia Awards currently comprise two types of scholarship: Australian Awards Scholarships (the Master Awards), to undertake higher degree studies in Australia at Masters level AND Australia Awards Short Courses, to undertake short-term, targeted professional training courses, in Australia and/or in Africa, in a range of development-focused sectors (the Africa Fellowships & the Australia Awards Fellowships).
The 2016/17 Australian Development Scholarships applications are now open for up to 1,000 African Students. Applications opened 1st September 2015.

Sectors of focus for ADS are agreed with each participating Partner Government. DEADLINES:
Applications will be accepted for the Australia Awards from 1st September 2015. Applications will only be received over a 4 month period from September to December each year.
The closing date for the 2016/17 Australia Awards Scholarships is 30 November 2015 for Scholarships and 18 December 2015 for the Short Courses.

Australia is committed to developing the capacity and leadership skills of Africans to enable them to contribute effectively to development in their home countries.
Over the past three years, the number of scholarships available for African professionals has increased ten-fold to a total of 1,000 development awards annually. One-quarter of all Australia’s development scholarships are now directed to Africa.
Australia Awards, a cornerstone of the Australian Government’s development assistance program for Africa, provide access to postgraduate education, training and professional development opportunities for suitably qualified Africans from eligible countries. On their return to the workplace, Australia Awards Alumni are expected to contribute actively to development in their home countries.
