Blair Milan Memorial Scholarship 2013, The Australian Institute for Performing Arts (AIPA)

Blair Milan was a truly unique individual, full of enthusiasm and energy.  His passion for performing and sharing his gift with others was infectious and AIPA is proud to announce a scholarship in his memory. The Blair Milan Memorial Scholarship was founded to financially assist actors and performers to explore their craft and train in the US through the Australian Institute for Performing Arts Talent Development Program.

The scholarship to the value of US$5000.00 will be awarded annually (by panel selection) to one performer of any nationality, 14 years and over.

Performers should be known to AIPA in some capacity. You may have taken a class, masterclass, training program, PAM, PAWS or a talent development project. The reason we ask that all applicants are known to us is to ensure that the successful awardee is of good moral character and possesses a genuine love for their craft and fellow actors, as Blair did. We hope to honour his name and memory by helping others who characteristics similar to what he shared with the acting community and the world. If you feel that you can honour his name and spirit and possess these wonderful qualities, we encourage you to apply.
How to Apply

You will need to fill out the application form which can be found at the bottom of his page and attach to it the following:

  1. A cover letter (max two page) stating why you feel that you are an appropriate candidate. Please mention how you are known to AIPA and if you knew Blair, how well and in what capacity.

  2. Two (2) professional references (max one page per reference) from people who have taught, directed or worked with you (Must be on letterhead with contact details) These references should make reference to your evident skill and how they believe that your chosen talent development project (PAM*, 8 Count, Singer/Songwriter, Atlantic Theatre Company LA Intensive or GLEEClub Australia) will benefit your development.

  3. Two (2) personal references (max one page per reference) from people who have known you for a minimum of three years, who are not directly related to you. These must include the referees contact details.

  4. Your resume.

  5. Your headshot

  6. A link to your website, YouTube account, show reel/demo reel. Please do not send us a file to download, as we will simply delete it. If you upload to Vimeo, please name the file “AIPA Blair Milan Scholarship Application 2013” and include your name.
