Becker CPA Review Course

 Becker CPA Review Course

Becker is the industry standard when it come to studying for the CPA exam. Becker knows its the standard and therefore marks up the price of their review course to the point where it is not affordable for college students. CPA firms around the world are offered subsidized copies of Becker to provide to their new hires and then the extra cost is passed on to those who don't have a job currently lined up. That being said if you can afford Becker I would certainly recommend it as I was lucky enough to be given a free copy from my firm and it is an excellent review course. However I still was not able to pass without the help of Gleim CPA review. I found that after awhile I had memorized all of Beckers multiple choice answers and was only answering the questions based on my memory and not because of the concepts I taught myself. So even if you firm has provided you with Becker then I still recommend trying out Gleim or Wiley's multiple choice bank so that you can be guaranteed to have a never ending supply of multiple choice. Pros include:
  • It is the industry standard and is provided to almost all associates at the big four firms
  • Guarantees that you will pass on the first time through if you complete the entire course.
Cons Include:
  • Way to expensive for someone who does not have a firm who is willing to provide the course
  • Covers every single possible topic that you may come across, which is not ideal for people working 50-60 hours a week and need to utilize every hour of studying to only the most important topics.
