California College San Diego

California College San Diego has a very long and eventful history of name changes. The College was not in California when it was founded in the year 1971 but was located in Phoenix Arizona. At that time it was known as Scottsdale Education Center. After moving to California, the College was first known as California College for Respiratory Therapy (CCRT) and later as California College of Health Sciences (CCHS). After a series of acquisitions, the CCHS was finally under the control of the California College Inc and the name was changed one final time to California College San Diego (CCSD). Today CCSD is a private college imparting four year educational programs to students and is located in Mission Valley, San Diego. The College is accredited by ACCSC (Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges) only and is affiliated to Stevens Henager College for online course offerings. Some of the college programs are individually accredited by agencies such as CAAHEP and CoARC. Apart from Health related courses which were offered by the College during its formative years such as Healthcare Administration, Respiratory Therapy and Medical specialties, it now has degree programs in business and technology fields as well such as Business managment, Accounting, Computer science, Computer networking, Computer programming etc. California College San Diego offers Associate Degree, Bachelor and Master degree programs. The College also offers many accelerated degree programs known as fastflex degrees to students. Associate Degree programs offered by the California College San Diego include – Business Associate degree in Business Management & Accounting, Property Management, Associate degree in Graphic Arts, Healthcare Associate degree in medical specialties, Radiography and Respiratory therapy, Information Technology Associate degree in Computer technology, networking and computer programming. Bachelor’s degree programs offered by CCSD include – Bachelor’s degree in accounting, accounting with emphasis on forensic accounting, business administration, business administration with emphasis on property management, Bachelor’s degree in graphic arts, Bachelor’s degree in health science, healthcare administration, healthcare administration with emphasis on biomedical clinical specialties, nursing, nursing administration and respiratory therapy, bachelor’s degree in computer science with emphasis on networking and another with emphasis on computer programming. Master’s degree programs include Master’s degree in business administration, Master’s degree in healthcare administration, nursing administration and nursing education.
