Carey Business School, Johns Hopkins University

Carey Business School is the private academic unit of the Johns Hopkins University providing education and research facilities in business management. The official name of the Business School is Johns Hopkins Carey Business School and is often referred to as JHCBS. Carey Business School was established in the year 1909 as School of Professional Studies in Business and Education. In the year 2007, the School of Professional studies was split into two units – Johns Hopkins University School of Education and the Carey Business School. The Business School was named Carey Business School due to the $50 million donation made by philanthropist William P Carey through his foundation. Carey Business School is located at Baltimore, Maryland in USA. Carey Business School has more than 1840 post graduate student population and 142 undergraduates. The School also supports nearly 140 academic staff. The academic programs of the Business School are offered at the following satellite centers of the School of Business – Columbia center in Maryland, Montgomery County campus, Washington DC and Inner Harbor, Baltimore. The Academic programs on offer by the Carey Business School include – full time and part time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree programs, Global MBA program, Executive MBA, MBA in Medical Services Management, MBA in Organization Development, Master level other degrees, joint degrees with other Johns Hopkins University Schools and bachelor level degrees. Master of Science programs offered by the Carey Business School include – Master of Science in Finance, MS in Marketing, MS in Information Systems, full time and part time MS in Real Estate. Joint degrees offered by the School include – MBA- Master of Public Health, MBA-MS in Nursing, MBA-MS in Biotechnology, MBA-MA in Government as well as in Communication. Undergraduate courses at the Business School include many Bachelor of Science degree programs. Carey Business School also offers many certificate programs in areas like financial management, Investments, Leadership Development for Minority Managers, Information Security Management, Competitive Intelligence and Business of Medicine. The tuition fee for the newly introduced Global MBA program is $46000 and includes travel and stay charges for the Innovation for Humanity Project of the Business School. For admission to the MBA programs at the Carey Business School, atleast two years of working experience is strongly desired by the School, though it is not a limiting factor.
