Events and Programs Intern At USA Triathlon 2022

Position Summary

• The USA Triathlon (USAT) Events & Programs internship is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the Events and Programs initiative of a National Governing Body (NGB).

• The intern will work directly with the Events and Programs team to provide assistance on the key projects that help USA Triathlon plan, maintain, and facilitate all programs.

• This person will be afforded the opportunity to develop and apply skills in various areas including but not limited to event management, logistical planning, database management, and research to help make strategic decisions. General

 

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with the Endurance Exchange virtual conference

• Assist with managing shipping and logistics for event equipment and awards

• Assist with sourcing vendors and rentals for owned events

• Conduct research for potential USAT Events/Programs Opportunities

• Prepare reports and be willing to effectively present necessary information

• Inventory and database management

• Prepare and ship items to USAT event/program stakeholders

• Assist with special projects as needed

 

Qualifications:

• Strong writing, communication, and research skills

• Ability to quickly learn and utilize event planning software

• Time management; self-motivated; detailed-oriented

• Ability to multi-task and work independently

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

• Ability to lift 25-50 pounds

• Create working relationships with immediate supervisor and staff members who work within or outside his/her work unit

• Experience working in a project-based environment with an emphasis on meeting deadlines

• Interest and/or experience in events/programs preferred

• Passion for sport and the ideals of the Olympic Movement

• Familiarity with the sport of triathlon helpful but is NOT required

• Must be eligible to work in the U.S.
