Foster School of Business was established in the year 1917 and is considered the second oldest management institution on the West Coast after Haas School of Business. Foster School of Business is affiliated under the University of Washington in Seattle and was earlier known as UW School of Business. Currently the School of Business is named after Michael G Foster after the Foster foundation donated $50 million to the school. Foster School of Business has earned the distinction of been one of the four business schools in USA to have earned the European Quality Improvement System (EQUIS). Foster School of Business has an annual enrollment of 2500 students in its graduate and undergraduate courses and more than 1000 working professionals for its executive education programs. The School of Business has more than 46000 alumni strength. Foster School of Business is located in five buildings – Balmer Hall (now PACCAR Hall), MacKenzie Hall, Lewis Hall, Bank of America Executive Education Center and the Eastside Executive Center. The Bank of America Executive Education Center includes the Boeing auditorium and the Foster Business Library. The academic programs on offer by the UW Foster School of Business include undergraduate and graduate level programs. Graduate level programs include full time Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program, evening MBA program, Global MBA program, Executive MBA program, Technology Management MBA program, Master of Professional Accounting in Auditing & Assurance and Taxation and finally the doctoral level program. Undergraduate business programs are in the fields of – Accounting, Finance, Human resources management, Information System, Marketing and Entrepreneurship. Evening MBA degree program at the School is a three years course. Executive MBA program is for middle level and senior level managers and executives. Global MBA program is an accelerated one year program for professionals having international exposure. Global executive MBA program is a 1 year accelerated full time MBA program conducted at University of Washington, Seattle campus. Technology Management MBA is an 18 months program for professionals with a passion for technology. PhD program of the Foster School of Business has the following concentration choices – Accounting, Finance, OB & Strategic Management, Marketing, Information System, Entrepreneurship, Operations Management and Technology.
