Hanover College

Hanover College was established in the year 1827 by the Rev.John Finley Crowe. The College is a private educational establishment providing courses in liberal arts. Hanover College is located near the banks of the Ohio River, in Hanover, Indiana. The College is located amidst the most beautiful and scenic looking 650 acre natural wooded campus. Hanover College is affiliated to Presbyterian Church of the USA. Hanover College library is known as the Duggan Library which subscribes to more than sixty five databases and two thousand periodicals and journals. The college offers its courses to nearly a thousand students, not only Americans but also from foreign countries. Graduates of the college are popularly referred as Hanoverians. The academic programs on offer consist of a Bachelor of Arts degree in nearly thirty one academic areas. Students also get the opportunity to design their own curriculum at Hanover. The faculty of the college also includes experts in their respective areas of study, most holding doctorate degrees. Majority of the students as well as the instructors reside on campus. The class size at Hanover College is small, with a student faculty ratio of 10:1. The academic calendar at Hanover College follows the 4-4-1 system – four classes each during the Fall and Winter terms and one during the Spring. The Bachelor of Arts degree at Hanover College is offered in the following areas – Art (studio art), Art history, History, astronomy, Anthropology, Medieval-Renaissance Studies, Astronomy, Business, biology, classical studies, communication, computer science and chemistry,  exercise science, environmental science, economics, english and education, German, Spanish and French languages geology, Music, Theater, political science, mathematics, Philosophy, physics, international studies, health and movement studies, kinesiology & Integrative physiology. The pre professional courses undertaken by Hanover College include the following – pre medical, pre law, pre dentistry, pre seminary, pre pharmacy, pre physical therapy and pre veterinary science. The core strength of the Hanover College lies in its pre medical, exercise and environmental science programs and in education & business studies. The College also provides off campus study opportunities through its study abroad programs in countries like – Spain, France, Germany, Australia, Belgium, Turkey and Mexico.
