Kenan Flagler – University Of North Carolina

The business school affiliated to the University of North Carolina is known as the Kenan Flagler Business School. Kenan Flagler, for short, offers graduate and undergraduate courses in business management and is located at Chapel Hill. Kenan Flagler Business School was established in the year 1919 as the Department of Commerce under the College of Arts, University of North Carolina. In 1991 the Business School received considerable donation from two prominent business families – Mary Lily Kenan Flagler, Henry Morrison Flagler and Frank Hawkins Kenan. In the year 1952, University of North Carolina introduced its first MBA program. The Business School also has a center in Bangkok – Kenan Institute Asia – which was set up in 1996. Other campuses are located in Hong Kong, Rotterdam, Sao Paulo and Monterrey, Mexico. The Academic courses on offer by the Kenan Flagler Business School include – Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, full time Master of Business Administration (MBA), Evening MBA program for Executives, Global One MBA for executives, Weekend MBA for executives, MBA@UNC, Executive Education programs, Master of Accounting and the PhD degree. Full time MBA at Kenan Flagler School is a 21 months program and has eight concentration choices. The program usually has candidates with five years average work experience.  The Global One MBA program is for 21 months and classes start in the month of September. In this program students have 10-13 years of work experience on an average. Evening MBA program is a two years program which usually starts in the month of August. Here students need to have more than ten electives and can choose from more than thirty choices. Typical student for the evening MBA program is 32 years old with 10 years of work experience. Weekend MBA program is a twenty months course which starts usually in the month of January. Executive development programs at Kenan Flagler consist of custom programs and open enrollment courses. Master of Accounting is a one year full time program for non-accounting majors. BS in Business Administration is a two years program with multiple concentration choices. UNC Kenan Flagler Business School is renowned for its Case Competitions such as – Venture Capital Investment Competition, UNC Kenan Flagler Real Estate Development Challenge and the Evergreen Investments Alpha Challenge.
