RICE MBA

Rice MBA refers to the different types of MBA programmeoffered by the Jesse H Jones Graduate School of Business under the Rice University, situated in Houston. The Jones Graduate School of Business as the name suggests offers graduate programs for its students along with few recently introduced undergraduate minors. The MBA programs of the School of Business under the Rice University are accredited by AACSB. Jones School of Business is named after civic leader and founder of Houston Endowment Inc., Jesse Holman Jones. The various academic programs on offer by the Texas based Jones Graduate School of Business include the following – full time MBA degree program, Executive MBA degree program, MBA for Professionals degree program, joint MBA degrees with other related schools of the University, Executive education programs, Rice education entrepreneurship program and PhD degree programs. Full time MBA program has a mandatory summer internship program after the first year of study and a visit to foreign countries such as China, India, Mexico, Latin America etc. Full time MBA students have the option to complete two concentrations of nine to twelve hours of coursework each. Though it is not mandatory, but if done, is reflected prominently on the MBA transcript. Functional concentration choices for a full time MBA student include the following – Finance, Marketing, Accounting and the newly introduced Health care studies. Industry or cross functional concentration choices for the students in addition include the following- Energy, Global business, Innovation and Creativity, Entrepreneurship, Managing consulting and the new introduced Real Estate sector. In order to apply for full time Rice MBA, the applicant has to follow online submission process. Apart from the application, the following have to be submitted – three essays have to be submitted online (fourth essay for re-application), bio data of the applicant, test scores of GMAT/TOEFL/PTE, two confidential evaluations, official academic transcripts and the application fee of $125. Other MBA degrees offered by the School of Business include the 22 month Executive MBA program for working professionals, the part time MBA for Professionals program with weekend or evening class options and the many Joint MBA programs. Joint MBA programs include the following – MBA-Master of Engineering, MBA-MD with Baylor College of Medicine and the MBA-MS in natural science.
