Carnegie Mellon University Scholarships


Presidential Scholarship


A Presidential Scholarship is renewable for eight (8) semesters of undergraduate education (10 semesters for students in the School of Architecture), as long as satisfactory academic progress and full-time enrollment are maintained.  Students do not complete a separate application process to be considered for a Presidential Scholarship. To be considered for a Presidential Scholarship, incoming freshman applicants must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the CSS PROFILE. A student and his/her family must demonstrate some level of financial need based on the FAFSA and CSS PROFILE information in order to qualify for a Presidential Scholarship. Students must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents to be considered for Presidential Scholarships.


Carnegie Scholarship


Carnegie Mellon awards the Carnegie Scholarship to qualified incoming first-year students. The Carnegie Scholarship is renewable for 8 semesters of undergraduate education (10 semesters for students in the School of Architecture) if satisfactory academic performance is maintained (you must maintain a cumulative 2.0 QPA) and Carnegie Mellon tuition is assessed. All qualified U.S. citizens and permanent residents are eligible to be considered for the Carnegie Scholarship.


ROTC Scholarships


A Reserve Officer Training Corp – ROTC Scholarship may be available to Carnegie Mellon undergraduates.




  • Air Force ROTC Scholarships


The Air Force ROTC program offers two, three and three-and-a-half year scholarships to qualified undergraduate Carnegie Mellon students. Scholarship amounts vary. Carnegie Mellon is a crosstown member of Detachment 730 at the University of Pittsburgh. Completion of the AFROTC program leads to a commission as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Air Force.




  • Army ROTC Scholarships


The Army ROTC program offers two, three and four-year scholarships based on student merit. Scholarships cover full tuition and fees plus $1,200 per year for books. All contracted students also receive a monthly stipend of $300 to $500 per month. Carnegie Mellon has a company at the Three Rivers Battalion headquartered at the University of Pittsburgh.




  • Naval-Marine Corps ROTC Scholarships


The Naval ROTC program offers two, three and four-year scholarships based on competitive national and regional selection. Scholarships cover full tuition and fees, $750 per year for books, and a monthly stipend of $250 to $400. The Carnegie Mellon Steel City Naval ROTC is considered one of the finest ROTC units in the country.

The World Forest Institute (WFI) invites applications for international fellowship program available for both US and foreign nationals. Fellowship provides young forestry and forest products professionals from around the world to work at the World Forest Institute for 6 to 12 months. The open application period for the 2017 Fellowship Program is August 1, 2016, to November 30, 2016.


The United Nations-Nippon Foundation of Japan Fellowships Programme in the USA, 2017


Applications are invited for United Nations – Nippon Foundation of Japan Fellowship Programme in the USA. International applicants are eligible to apply for these fellowships. 10 fellowships will be awarded per annum, and successful candidates will be notified by DOALOS.  Application deadline for the 2017 session is 9 September 2016.


George Washington University International Students Fellowships in USA, 2016-2017


George Washington University is offering global leaders fellowships for incoming graduate students. The fellowships are available for pursuing graduate (master’s and doctoral) degree program. Students of China (PRC), Cambodia, Eastern Europe, Laos, Latin America, The Caribbean, Mongolia, Sub-Saharan Africa, U.S.S.R. Successor States and Vietnam can apply for these fellowships. Horowitz Foundation Grants for International Applicants in the USA, 2016


The Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy is offering merit-based grants for international applicants. Each grant is worth a total of $7,500—$5,000 is awarded initially and $2,500 upon completion of the project.


Dianne Woest Fellowship in the Arts and Humanities in USA, 2017-2018


The Historic New Orleans Collection is delighted to offer Woest Fellowship for 2017-2018 academic year. Both US and international applicants are eligible to apply for this fellowship program.  The fellowship includes a stipend of $4,000. Applications for the 2017/18 Woest Fellowship are due November 1, 2016. Recipients will be announced February 1, 2017.


Mirzayan Fellowship for the US and International Students in the USA, 2017


Applications are invited for Christine Mirzayan Science & Technology Policy Graduate Fellowship Program. The fellowship program provides early career individuals with the opportunity to spend 12 weeks at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. For the 2016 session, the stipend for the 12-week program is $8,500.  The fellowship stipend is provided to offset living expenses during the fellowship period.


The Paul and Daisy Soros Fellowship  


Fellowship is available to pursue graduate studies in any field at any University in the U.S. Fellowship is available to U.S permanent residents, Naturalized citizens, Children of naturalized citizen parents and Seniors and first-year graduate students. Deadline is November 1, 2016.
