CAS-DAAD Joint Fellowship Programme Offers Opportunities for Chinese Doctoral Students to Conduct Research in Germany

The Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) proudly announce the continuation of their joint fellowship programme, aimed at fostering collaboration and academic exchange between China and Germany. Since its inception in 2007, the CAS-DAAD Joint Fellowship Programme has provided promising young Chinese scientists from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences (UCAS) and CAS research institutes with the unique opportunity to undertake research stays in Germany for a duration of 12 to 22 months. This programme is exclusively designed for candidates pursuing doctoral degrees in China. Under the fellowship programme, successful applicants will have the chance to conduct research at esteemed German institutions of higher education or research establishments, excluding Max-Planck or Fraunhofer institutes.

The fellowship includes a monthly scholarship payment of €1,350 from UCAS in the first year and €1,200 from DAAD in the second year, along with comprehensive health, accident, and personal liability insurance coverage. Additionally, a lump sum travel allowance will be provided to facilitate the candidates' travel arrangements. The selection process for the fellowship programme involves inviting candidates for interviews in Beijing in March of the subsequent year.
