The Advanced Clinical Practitioner programme at Northumbria University is designed as an employer-led apprenticeship that aligns with the IFATE Advanced Clinical Practitioner (Integrated degree) standard and the Health Education England (HEE) multiprofessional framework for advanced practice in England. This unique programme allows you to enhance your advanced clinical practice capabilities within your current clinical setting while maintaining your employment.

What you'll study

This integrated degree apprenticeship focuses on developing a comprehensive practice portfolio that spans the four pillars of advanced practice: Clinical, Leadership & Management, Education, and Research. Throughout the programme, you will engage with various modules, which may include:

• Life Science for Advanced Clinical Practitioners
• Health History and Examination
• Non-Medical Prescribing
• Contemporary Advanced Clinical Practice
• Professional and Practice Development for Advanced Clinical Practice
• Knowledge for Advanced Clinical Practice (including Apprenticeship End Point Assessment preparation)

Your learning will be assessed through academic evaluations and portfolio-based evidence, culminating in the apprenticeship end point assessment process, supported by your employer and practical learning experiences.

Entry requirements

To be eligible for the Advanced Clinical Practitioner programme, applicants should possess a minimum of a Lower Second Class (2:2) honours degree. Additionally, it is expected that candidates will have employer sponsorship or support to undertake this apprenticeship.
