Overview

The Master of Science in Geodesy and Geoinformation at the Technical University of Munich (TUM) equips students with the skills to collect, process, and interpret spatial data for various real-world applications. What you'll study

• Semester 1 (Foundation): In the first semester, you will build a solid foundation in geodesy and geoinformation, covering essential topics like higher geodesy, satellite geodesy, photogrammetry, remote sensing, and cartography, alongside geoinformatics and land management.
• Semesters 2–3 (Specialisation & application): You will deepen your expertise by choosing one of the following specialization tracks:
  • Higher geodesy & satellite geodesy
  • Photogrammetry, remote sensors & cartography
  • Geodesy, spatial informatics & land management
• Capstone / final work: The program culminates in a Master’s thesis, where you will apply advanced methodologies to address a specific geodesy and geoinformation challenge.
• Learning format: The courses are enhanced by practical exercises, projects, and supervised work, designed to strengthen your proficiency in handling spatial data and geodetic methods.

Entry requirements

Applicants should possess a relevant bachelor’s degree in fields such as geodesy, surveying, geoinformatics, civil engineering, or a closely related discipline. Specific GRE or GMAT scores are not required for this program.
