Introduction

Biomedical science and biotechnology have revolutionised research over the past decade, stimulating growth in industries like agriculture, pharmaceuticals, veterinary science and medical research. Biomedical science is the most rapidly developing area in biological sciences, and demand for biomedical graduates is expected to grow.

You gain an understanding of fundamental physiology and biomedical research, working with the latest laboratory techniques and equipment. AUT has specialist biomedical labs with analytical equipment not available at any other New Zealand university.

Admission Requirements

  • All applicants need to meet AUT’s minimum entry requirements qualification equivalent to New Zealand year 13 or University Entrance.

IELTS (Academic) 6.0 overall with all bands 5.5 or higher; or equivalent; TOEFL iBT score of 80; Certificate in English for Academic Study (CertEAS) with B/B+ grade; GIE with B grade; CAE minimum overall score of 169; PTE minimum overall score of 50.
