Introduction

The Mechanical Engineering major in the Bachelor of Engineering Technology prepares you for careers as an engineering technologist in mechanical engineering, and production or manufacturing engineering. You develop the skills to maintain, develop and design different aspects of modern mechanical technology.

Admission Requirements

All applicants need to meet AUT’s minimum entry requirements qualification equivalent to New Zealand year 13 or University Entrance including:

  • NCEA: 14 credits or more at level 2 or above (including AS91261 and AS91262) OR NCEA level 3 in Maths, Stats or Calculus AND 14 Level 2 credits in Physics
  • CIE: A D grade or better in Mathematics and Physics at AS level
  • IB: Passes (level 4) in both Mathematics and Physics
