Underpinned by advanced professional practice, this taught Masters degree is designed for sports therapy graduates who have secured professional accreditation with The Society of Sports Therapists. The course promotes individual enquiry, developing your status and expertise as a graduate sports therapist and providing a dynamic and fluid appraisal of contemporary issues and clinical techniques. You will spend 200 hours on practice placements, significantly expanding on the practice experience from your undergraduate degree, developing your professional portfolio and enhancing your employability. The focus on professional practice is supplemented by bespoke modules aligned to mental health awareness for athletes and practitioners, as well as critical issues in strength and conditioning, reflecting the specialisms available to graduate sports therapists. You will also complete a research project, developed around your own interests, which could lead to your work being submitted for publication. You will graduate as a professionally qualified, evidence-based sports therapist with extensive real-world experience in all facets of contemporary sports therapy.
You should have a degree equivalent to UK first-class or upper second-class honours (2:1 or above) in sports therapy and professional accreditation with the Society of Sports Therapists. GCSE English Language and GCSE Mathematics at Grade C or Grade 4 or above (or equivalent) are also required.
