Endeavour Vocational Education and Training (VET) Award is a well known award  which is offered each year by Australian Government for International  Students. The award is available to undertake vocational  education at a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level  in  any field of study. The award provides financial support for up to 2.5 years.  The award also provide support for English Language Training worth of  $10,000 up to 6 months, if required. Applications close on June 30,  2013.

Study Subject(s): The award is offered in any field of  study. The courses are directly related to a trade, occupation or ‘vocation’ in  which the applicant participates. Course Level: The award  is available to undertake vocational education at a Diploma, Advanced  Diploma or Associate Degree level. Eligibility: 1. Applicants must be citizens and/or permanent  residents of a participating country and must not hold dual citizenship with  Australia. 2. Award Holders must commence their Award after 1 January, 2014  and no later than 30 November 2014. Applicants who have already commenced or  will commence their program at their host organisation prior to 2014 are  ineligible. 3. Applicants who currently hold or who have completed an  Australia Award after 1 January 2012 are not eligible to apply. Applicants are  not eligible to apply in a category in which they have already completed an  Endeavour Scholarship or Fellowship 4. Applicants must have completed the  equivalent to an Australian Year 10 secondary qualification (minimum) at the  time of application. 5. Applicants must have applied for and gained  admission to a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree course at an  Australian vocational education institution for commencement in 2014.

Scholarship Description: The Endeavour Vocational Education and  Training (VET) Award provides financial support for up to 2.5 years for  international students from participating countries to undertake vocational  education at a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree level in any field  of study in Australia. English language training in Australia will also be  provided when the English language results fall within the specified  requirements outlined in the Applicant Guidelines. Vocational education and  training provides occupational or work-related knowledge and skills. The courses  are directly related to a trade, occupation or ‘vocation’ in which the applicant  participates. These courses exclude degree and higher level programs normally  delivered by universities.

Duration of award(s): The Endeavour Vocational Education  and Training (VET) Award provides financial support for up to 2.5 years.

What does it cover? Travel Allowance: $4,500   Establishment Allowance: $4,000 Monthly Stipend: $2,500 per month. Up to 2  years on a pro-rata basis (additional 6 months if undertaking English Language  Training) Tuition Fees: $6,500 per semester (Maximum of $13,000 per  year) English Language Training: $10,000 (Up to 6 months, if required)   Health Insurance: Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) will be provided.   Travel Insurance: Coverage provided for travel to and from Australia, not  during. Total Value:  Up to $119,500.

Selection Criteria: -A record of academic achievement in  educational and vocational activities and a minimum of two years full-time or  equivalent relevant work experience are highly desirable. Preference may be  given to applicants with work experience that is directly related to their  proposed course, (30%); - A well-defined study and/or research program,  (20%); A proposal that is relevant to the applicant’s needs and to the needs  and interests of Australia and the applicants’ home country, (15%); The  applicant’s potential to foster ongoing collaboration and cooperation with  Australia and potential to participate at a high level in the academic or wider  community in their home country on return from their program, (20%), and   Evidence of service to the community. Unpaid service within the applicants’field  of expertise, or unpaid community service in outside capacities, (15%).

Notification: The Department will email all successful and  unsuccessful applicants regarding the outcome of their applications by the  end of December 2013. Successful applicants will be required to accept their  Award Offers online within 14 days of the offer. Applicants will also be  required to sign and return a ‘Declaration of Acceptance’, which is attached to  their notification letter, prior to their Award being confirmed. Due to the high  volume of applications received, the Department does not provide individual  feedback on why an application was unsuccessful. There may be a number of  reasons why an application received does not pass through to the next stage.
