Scholarship Description:

ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships 2023 is open for International Students . The scholarship allows PhD, Fellowship level program(s) in the field of All Subjects taught at University of Bath, University of Bristol, University of Exeter, Plymouth University, University of West of England . The deadline of the scholarship is expired at 23 Mar 2023.

The ESRC (The Economic and Social Research Council) invites applications for postdoctoral fellowships (PDF) to be based at the SWDTP institutions of University of Bath, University of Bristol, University of Exeter, Plymouth University and University of West of England. The Economic and Social Research Council, formerly the Social Science Research Council, is part of UK Research and Innovation. UKRI is a non-departmental public body funded by the UK government. ESRC provides funding and support for research and training in the social sciences. These fellowships are a development opportunity for those in the immediate postdoctoral stage of their career, to provide the opportunity to consolidate their PhD through developing publications, their networks, and their research and professional skills.

ESRC Postdoctoral Fellowships 2023 is available to undertake PhD, Fellowship level programs at University of Bath, University of Bristol, University of Exeter, Plymouth University, University of West of England.

Eligible Nationalities:

This scholarship is for international students.

Eligibility Criteria:

To be eligible applicants must:

  • Have been awarded a PhD or have passed their viva voce with minor amendments by the application deadline of 23rd March 2023 and have been awarded their PhD by the fellowship start date of 1st October 2023.
  • Have no more than 12 months active postdoctoral experience since passing their viva voce (allowing for career breaks) by 23rd March 2023.  The period of active post-doctoral experience should be calculated from the viva voce being passed to the closing date of 23rd March 2023.

Application Procedure:

All applicants must submit a completed proposal along with the required attachments in one collated PDF document by 16.00 on 23rd March 2023 to the SWDTP at swdtp-enquiries@bristol.ac.uk

Applicants are also asked to submit an Equal Opportunity PDF Data Form separately to the application to swdtp-enquiries@bristol.ac.uk.  Note: this is held confidentially and collected for statistical reporting to the ESRC only.

The SWDTP will peer review the proposals and make funding decisions on behalf of ESRC by 26th June 2023.
