University of British Columbia is offering college awards to students beginning their undergraduate studies at UBC in the Vantage One Program at UBC Vantage College. Three types of awards are available: entrance awards include full cost of the student’s first year tuition, excellence awards cover full cost of the student’s academic program and living costs and outstanding student up to $6,000 to outstanding UBC Vantage College students. The awards are made primarily on the basis of academic excellence but financial need will also be taken into account. The application deadline is March 31 2016.

Degree Level: Awards are available to students beginning their undergraduate studies at UBC in the Vantage One Program at UBC Vantage College.

Eligibility:
Applicants are a strong academic student

1. Applicants demonstrate financial need


2. Applicants are entering directly from secondary school


3. Applicants are nominated by a member of the school or community


4. Applicants are pursuing studies in the Vantage one program at UBC Vantage College

Eligible Nationalities: International students can apply for these college awards.

 

What does it cover: 

• UBC Vantage College Outstanding Student Award: UBC Vantage College offers awards up to $6,000 to outstanding


• UBC Vantage College students enrolled in the Vantage One Program.


• UBC Vantage College Entrance Award: Awards ranging in value up to the full cost of the student’s first year tuition


• UBC Vantage College Excellence Awards: Awards ranging in value up to the full cost of the student’s academic program and living costs

Selection Criteria: The outstanding student award is made primarily on the basis of academic excellence. The entrance award and excellence awards are made primarily on the basis of academic excellence but financial need will also be taken into account.

Notification: University will confirm receipt of application on or before February 13th, 2016 and student will be known by June 1st, 2016 if they receive one of the awards.

Application Procedure: All applicants to UBC Vantage College are automatically considered for outstanding student award. For the Entrance and Excellence Awards, applicants must complete an application form by mail or courier, and also send scanned copies by email.
