Materials Science and Chemistry Norway: Postdoctoral Research Fellowship

University of Oslo is inviting applications for a postdoctoral research fellowship in materials science and chemistry. The fellowship is for a period of 2 years starting no later than August 15th 2015. The successful candidate will work on the project Novel Features of Complex Oxides. The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates for fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and are expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials. The successful candidate is expected to be willing and able to take on tasks connected with instrumentation in the NAFUMA research group. The application deadline is 10 March 2015.

Eligibility:
-Applicants for the Postdoctoral fellowship must hold a PhD degree equivalent to a Norwegian PhD/doctoral degree within chemistry or materials science, and with a relevant specialization, primarily within inorganic chemistry or materials chemistry.
-The applicants must have documented expertise within crystallography, diffraction experiments (preferably XRD and ND) and structural analysis preferably on transition metal oxides. In addition experience within materials synthesis, general characterization or in-situ studies will be considered as an advantage.
-The candidate must in the application form clearly state which of the three fields he/she has relevant expertise in. It is imperative that the candidate is able to take responsibility for his/her main research techniques, including troubleshooting and problem solving. The candidate shall participate in regular NAFUMA meetings for presentation and discussion of scientific progress and plans.
-The successful candidate is expected to be willing and able to take on tasks connected with instrumentation in the NAFUMA research group.
-Personal suitability and cooperation skills will receive attention in the selection process.

  • Norwegian and International applicants can apply for this postdoctoral research fellowship.

  • Position as Postdoctoral Research Fellowship (SKO 1352) is available in Materials Science and Chemistry at Centre for Materials Science and Nanotechnology (SMN). The fellowship is for a period of 2 years starting no later than August 15th 2015. The successful candidate will work on the project Novel Features of Complex Oxides (NOFCO), funded by the FRINATEK program of the Research Council of Norway.

  • One postdoctoral research fellowship is available.

  • The fellowship is for a period of 2 years starting no later than August 15th 2015.

  • Fellowship includes a pay grade: 57 – 64 (NOK 482 800 – 549 400 per year).
