McGill University is offering Media@McGill Postdoctoral Fellowship to study in Canada. Fellowship is open to both national and international scholars for 2017-2018 academic year.

McGill University is an English-language public research university in Montreal, Canada. It was officially founded by a royal charter issued by King George IV in 1821.

All international applicants for whom English is not the native tongue must provide proof of competence in the English language.

Degree Level: Fellowship is available to pursue postdoctoral programme.

Available Subject: Media@McGill’s residential postdoctoral fellowships are awarded to scholars from the humanities and social sciences, working on any historical period. The 2017-2018 fellowship is dedicated to the theme of “Migrant Media.”

Scholarship Benefits: The stipend for the Media@McGill Postdoctoral Fellowship is $45,000 CAD for 12 months (this includes a travel research stipend) beginning in September 2017.

Number of Scholarships: Media@McGill will be offering one Postdoctoral Fellowship for 2017-2018.

Eligibility: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarship:

The Media@McGill Postdoctoral Fellowship is open to both national and international scholars who have completed their doctoral degree in a university other than McGill no earlier than June 1, 2013. Candidates must have defended their dissertation and received their PhD by May 1, 2017. Fluency in English is essential; working knowledge of French is an asset.

Nationality: Fellowship is open to both national as well international scholars.

Entrance Requirements: The Media@McGill Postdoctoral Fellowship is open to both national and international scholars who have completed their doctoral degree in a university other than McGill no earlier than June 1, 2013.

English language Requirements: Fluency in English is essential; working knowledge of French is an asset.

How to Apply:  Completed statements of interest should be sent to mediaatmcgill.ahcs-at-mcgill.ca.

The following should be included in all statements of interest and be sent in a single pdf (the application will not be accepted otherwise). The documents’ order follows the list below:

  • a cover letter;

  • a research proposal (750 words);

  • a Curriculum Vitae (maximum 5 pages).
