Scholarship Description: Applications are invited from suitably qualified female doctoral and early career scholars to participate in the Laureate Program in Comparative Constitutional Law at Melbourne Law School, the University of Melbourne during 2019.

Funding of up to AUD$3000 will be considered for the Kathleen Fitzpatrick Visiting Fellow, towards the costs of travel to, and accommodation in Melbourne.

Within the project, the Kathleen Fitzpatrick Visiting Fellowships support outstanding female researchers to build the Project’s research capacity, undertake innovative research programs and mentor early career researchers.

The purpose of the award is to establish a world-class, capacity building centre for the comparative constitutional law at Melbourne Law School known as the Laureate Project on Comparative Constitutional Law.

Degree Level: This is a Visiting fellowship programme.

Available Subject: Fellowship is awarded to study Laureate Program in Comparative Constitutional Law at Melbourne Law School, the University of Melbourne in 2019.

Scholarship Benefits: Funding of up to AUD$3000 will be considered for the Kathleen Fitzpatrick Visiting Fellow, towards the costs of travel to, and accommodation in Melbourne. Visiting fellows from outside Australia are responsible for obtaining and funding any necessary visas.

Eligible Nationalities: International students are eligible to apply for this fellowship.

Eligibility Criteria: Applicants must meet the following criteria:


Applicants for the Doctoral Visiting Fellowships must be currently enrolled in the doctoral study on a topic related to the work of the Laureate Program. Applicants for the Postdoctoral Visiting Fellowships must have been awarded a PhD in a related field within the past ten years.

  2. Create a separate page for each of the following headings: Curriculum Vitae, Research Statement, Reasons to Participate, Proposed Visit Dates in 2019, and How you Meet the Application Criteria.

  3. Include a page number in consecutive order on all pages.

  4. Submit the required information in one email in PDF format (excluding referees).

  5. To maintain confidentiality two referee reports are to be sent directly from the referees to laureate-constitutions-at-unimelb.edu.au and must be received by the submission close date.

  6. Address the application to Professor Adrienne Stone, and submit with attachments in PDF format, to laureate-constitutions-at-unimelb.edu.au Note: Only applications that follow the format requirement and provide the required information will be considered for the Fellowship.
