The module covers the sources of conflict that can arise in procurement activities, the influence of stakeholders, and the importance of managing negotiation teams to achieve successful outcomes.The course examines a range of negotiation approaches, including collaborative, integrative, principled, and win-win strategies, as well as more competitive distributive approaches. You will develop an understanding of how power, leverage, trust, and relationships influence negotiations and learn techniques for building and maintaining productive supplier relationships.A significant focus is placed on negotiation preparation. You will explore costing and pricing concepts, economic factors that affect negotiations, and key planning tools such as negotiation objectives, BATNA (Best Alternative to a Negotiated Agreement), the Zone of Potential Agreement (ZOPA), and the bargaining mix.
