About this course

The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Associate is a foundational-level cloud architect who designs and implements solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This professional possesses a solid understanding of OCI's core services, including compute, storage, networking, and identity and access management. They are capable of designing secure, highly available, and cost-effective architectures for simple to moderately complex applications running on OCI. This certification represents the first step on the path to becoming a professional cloud architect, demonstrating proficiency in the core building blocks of the OCI platform.A core competency is the design of OCI networking and compute architectures. The architect understands how to design Virtual Cloud Networks (VCNs) with proper segmentation using subnets, route tables, and security lists. They can design connectivity solutions for hybrid cloud, such as using VPN or FastConnect to connect on-premises data centers to OCI. For compute, they are proficient in designing solutions using OCI Compute instances (both VM and bare metal), choosing the appropriate shapes (compute profiles) based on workload requirements (CPU, memory, network performance). They also understand the use of instance pools and autoscaling to build resilient and scalable application tiers. The associate architect is skilled in designing storage and database solutions on OCI. They understand the different storage offerings, including Block Volume for persistent block storage, Object Storage for unstructured data, and File Storage for shared file systems. They know how to design storage solutions that meet performance (IOPS) and durability requirements. For databases, they are proficient in deploying and managing Oracle Autonomous Database (ADW and ATP), understanding the benefits of its self-driving, self-securing, and self-repairing features. They also understand how to provision Oracle Database Cloud Services and manage database backups.Security and governance
