Writing Creative Non-Fiction will cover the basics of the genre. Whether you're a writer of fiction/poetry/plays or just now entering the world of writing, this course is accessible and will answer questions like: - What is Creative Non-fiction? - What makes it different from Journalism? - Is memoir covered under creative non-fiction? - What is and is not allowed in writing creative non-fiction? - What elements make it "creative" or are borrowed from writing fiction? - How do I research my chosen topic and conduct interviews? This course includes online readings, distance workshops and critiques, writing exercises, and the chance to write a paper on the topic of your choosing. Writing the paper includes gaining practice in interviewing subjects. The curriculum gives weekly assignments and the entire course should take two months.
