Griffith University is a public research university in South East Queensland on the east coast of Australia. Formally founded in 1971, Griffith opened its doors in 1975, introducing Australia’s first degrees in environmental science and Asian studies.
The University is named after Sir Samuel Walker Griffith, who was twice Premier of Queensland and the first Chief Justice of the High Court of Australia.
Applications are invited for Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme at Griffith University in Australia. Both non-residents and Australian citizens/residents can apply for the fellowship.
The aim of Postdoctoral fellowship scheme is to enable and encourage academically able students.
These Fellowships are available to pursue postdoctoral fellowship programme.
These Fellowships will be awarded in any of the subjects offered by the University.
Fellowships salaries are funded in the proportion 50% central funding and 50% Research Centre(s) funding. In addition, central funding will be used to provide $10,000 per annum project costs. Travel and removal costs to take up the Fellowship will be shared equally between central funding and the host Research Centre(s), and in accordance with Griffith University’s policy on Removal Assistance.
Number of Scholarships:
Up to eight Fellowships may be awarded.
The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for the scholarship:
- Both non-residents and Australian citizens/residents may apply.
- Recipients must reside in Australia for the full term of the Fellowship.
- Holders of a Research Doctorate awarded not more than three years prior to the closing date of 28 June 2017 (i.e. awarded on or after 28 June 2014) are eligible to apply. Postdoctoral Fellows will be early career researchers who show potential to become leaders in their field.
- Applicants who have not been awarded their Research Doctorate by the closing date must have submitted their thesis by 28 June 2017. If the Research Doctorate has not been conferred by this date a letter is required from the relevant institution confirming that the thesis has been submitted for examination.
Both non-residents and Australian citizens/residents can apply for these fellowships.
