A postdoctoral fellowship is available to study the molecular biology of androgen action and mechanisms of prostate cancer in a stimulating research environment. Norwegian applicants can apply for this fellowship.

The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in top academic positions within their disciplines.

The candidate must have a PhD (or who will complete it by 01.12.2016) or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in biological or basic medical sciences.

Degree Level: Fellowship is provided for pursuing postdoctoral programme at the Department of Biosciences.

Available Subject: Fellowship is awarded  to study the molecular biology of androgen action and mechanisms of prostate cancer in a stimulating research environment.

Scholarship benefits: Position code 1352, Salary NOK 486 100 – 567 100 per year, (Pay Grade: 57 – 65) depending on qualifications and seniority.

Eligibility:

  • The Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences has a strategic ambition of being a leading research faculty. Candidates for these fellowships will be selected in accordance with this, and expected to be in the upper segment of their class with respect to academic credentials.

  • The candidate must have a PhD (or who will complete it by 01.12.2016) or other corresponding education equivalent to a Norwegian doctoral degree in biological or basic medical sciences.

  • Furthermore, in addition to the topics listed above, experience with molecular, cell biological, and physiological characterization of crosstalk between signaling pathways will be considered a strong advantage.

  • Extra aspects that will be evaluated positively are: motivation, communication skills, independence as well as capability to work and collaborate in research teams.

  • The main purpose of post-doctoral research fellowships is to qualify researchers for work in top academic positions within their disciplines.

  • A good command of English is required.
