ACU Postgraduate Scholarships for domestic and International Students, The Australian Catholic University is offering postgraduate scholarships in Law and Religion, Cities and Successful Societies and Asian Religions at the Faculty of Education and Arts Institute for Religion, Politics and Society. These scholarships are open for both domestic and international research candidates. The scholarship provides a tax free stipend of $25,849 and a $10,000 per annum for three years, subject to satisfactory progress. The last date of submission of application is 29 May, 2015.

Eligibility:

1. Bachelor of Arts with Honours (HI or HIIA) or Bachelor of Laws, or a Masters in sociology, political science, law, religious studies or a discipline applicable to the position;


2. Academic excellence, including, but not limited to, academic awards or grants; and


3. Familiarity with the social science literature on the subject of research as well as more broadly with the academic literature on Islamic Law in South East Asia.

Eligible Nationalities: Both domestic and international research candidates can apply for this scholarship.

What does it cover: The scholarship provides:

• A tax free stipend of $25,849 (per annum) and a $10,000 per annum top-up for three years, subject to satisfactory progress; and


• A fee waiver and OSHC policy for International research candidates.

Application Procedure: Please refer to the Postgraduate Scholarship Application Form available online from Graduate Research. Applicants should also include a cover letter of not more than two pages providing evidence of:

1. Research and leadership potential;


2. Experience in having conducted fieldwork-based research in the context of the broader study;


3. Excellent English (written and spoken) and knowledge of the language(s) relevant to the project;


4. Quantitative skills, particularly in survey design and analysis;
   Ability to contribute to a team;


5. Ability to meet deadlines; and


6. Ability to contribute to an energetic research environment, to work well with others and to contribute to the intellectual life of the Institute.
