STP of INLAND REVENUE SERVICES

The directorate of training in taxation is where the Special Training Program (STP) for the income tax service is carried out. Previously, the DOT was located at Kashmir road, Karachi, however, at present it is located in Allama Iqbal Town, Lahore. The duration for the STP varies from 3 to 6 months. At present the training is for 4 and a half months followed by MBA in tax management which is for 10 months. The courses offered at the DOT are:
· Income Tax law comprising 4 papers
· Accounting Foundation Course
· Other laws including Sales tax and Excise
· Information Technology with emphasis on Microsoft Excel
No extra-curricular activities like games, physical training, etc exists in the DOT.
