The scholarship aims to enable underrepresented students to pursue their master’s studies at the Bartlett.

Scholarship Benefits:

Successfully selected candidates will be provided a full tuition fee plus an allowance of £15,364 to cover living and studying expenses at the UCL.

UK

Eligibility Criteria:

  • be UK domiciled with home fee status or be a forced migrant (as defined by UCL)
  • have an offer of admission to a Bartlett master’s programme for study in 2022/23 and
  • must not have completed a Master’s at UCL or anywhere else previously (including integrated master’s degrees or degrees sometimes known as ‘undergraduate master’s) 2 

In addition to these, for The Bartlett Promise - Aziz Foundation scholarship candidates must:

  • identify as a British Muslim and/or
  • work to support British Muslim communities

Candidates must also meet at least one of the additional criteria:

  • be in financial need as assessed by UCL2
  • be from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic background 3
  • be from a Gypsy, Roma or Traveller community 4
  • have a disability 4
  • be a care leaver 4
  • have care responsibilities
  • be first generation in family to attend university at undergraduate level
  • be first generation in family to attend university at postgraduate level

Application Procedure:

Candidates applying for a master’s scholarship from The Bartlett Promise must have received an offer from one of The Bartlett schools to study a master’s programme in 2022/23.   You do not need to have accepted the offer.

The offer may be unconditional (the applicant has met all the requirements to join the programme) or conditional (i.e. the offer is conditional on the applicant meeting key requirements such as a 2.1 grade in their undergraduate programme).  If a shortlisted candidate has a conditional offer, they will need to confirm that they have met the conditions required by 30 July 2022 so that they can be considered for an award.

As part of the application process, shortlisted candidates will be asked to engage in a one-to-one dialogue with the Windsor Fellowship5 to discuss anything else which you feel might support your application.  This will not include describing or detailing your academic abilities as these will be assessed by your Bartlett School.  The dialogues will be conducted electronically via an appropriate method agreed between the Windsor Fellowship and the applicant e.g. telephone, Zoom etc. They will be scheduled by the Windsor Fellowship 20 to 30 June 2022. 

The Windsor Fellowship is supporting The Bartlett in conducting the one-to-one dialogues that form part of the application process. The Bartlett will share the data of applicants with the Windsor Fellowship for the purposes of conducting these dialogues.
