Department of Food Science (FOOD), Faculty of Science at the University of Copenhagen (DIKU) is offering PhD Scholarships within Process and production mapping within biotechnology. Applicants from any nationality can apply for these scholarships. The main objective of the university is to provide high quality, comprehensive educational and training opportunities that are compatible to changing needs of the students. DIKU is the first danish computer science department founded at University of Copenhagen. The department conducts research and offers a number of study programmes on Bachelor, Master and PhD level as well as individual courses and summer courses. Applicants need to demonstrate that they have a good level of written and spoken English.




  • Scholarships are available for pursuing PhD programme.

  •  Scholarships are awarded in Process and production mapping within biotechnology.

  • The position will be filled according to the agreement between the Danish Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The post is covered by the Protocol on Job Structure.



Eligibility Criteria: The following criteria must be met in order for applicants to be eligible for scholarships:




  • Master degree in food technology or science, chemical or biochemical engineering

  • A strong commitment to research and performing experiments across scales (lab, pilot, full-scale

  • Strong interest in (on-line) measurement principles and data analysis (experimental design, statistics, chemometrics)

  • Experience with programming

  • The grade point average achieved

  • Professional qualifications relevant to the Ph.D programme

  • Previous publications

  • Relevant work experience

  • Other professional activities

  • Language skills

  • Interpersonal skills



Eligible Nationalities: Citizens of any nationality can apply for these scholarships.



Entrance Requirements:




  • The position is available for a 3-year period for applicants holding a relevant master degree.



English language Requirements:




  • Applicants should have good Language as well as Interpersonal skills.

  • A maximum of 3 relevant scientific works which the applicant wishes to be included in the assessment.

  • Applicants whose principal language of instruction during their BSc/MSc was not Scandinavian or English must enclose IELTS or TOEFL test scores.
