The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is open at the University of Kansas from 2022-2023. 

The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship at the University of Kansas is now available for students if they have at least a 3.25 GPA or higher.

The University of Kansas officially announced the upcoming class scholarships. It is considered to be one of the top institutions around the globe. 

The University of Kansas was founded on March 21, 1865, the university was opened in 1866, under a charter granted by the Kansas State Legislature in 1864 and legislation passed in 1863 under the State Constitution, which was embraced two years after the 1861 admission of the former Kansas Territory as the 34th state into the Union. Its namesake is Saint Ignatius of Loyola. It currently functions in  Kansas, United States.

The University of Kansas offers such scholarships yearly to welcome students to the campus. 

Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship will open the door to new and better opportunities for selected students and expose them to advanced learning in undergraduate, graduate, and postgraduate programs.

To renew the scholarship, you must complete 30 KU hours each academic year and earn a cumulative 3.25 KU GPA. This scholarship may be renewed for up to three years. Phi Theta Kappa transfer students may also apply for additional scholarships from KU International Admissions and from academic units. Students who start in the summer will receive their scholarships in the fall.

Scholarship Benefits:

This award of approximately $35,466 ($11,822/year) is automatically given to PTK members without a bachelor’s degree who attend KU as degree-seeking students for the first time.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants must provide the following:

  • A 3.25 GPA or higher.
  • 24 transferable college credit hours completed, with the last 12 earned at a U.S. community college.

Application Procedure:

To apply, students must submit a complete admission application by May 1 for the fall semester or Dec. 1 for the spring semester. They must also provide an official transcript by June 30 for the fall semester or by Jan. 6 for the spring semester. Additionally, a student’s advisor must submit a PTK Membership Verification Form by July 1.
