Scholarship Benefits:

The student that secures this Scholarship 2022 will be provided full tuition fees of £4,600 as an award for the Doctorate programme at the University of Leeds.

Eligibility Criteria:

Applicants to research degree programs should normally have at least a first-class or an upper second class British Bachelors Honours degree (or equivalent) in an appropriate discipline and a master's degree (or be predicted to obtain a master's degree). Applicants who are uncertain about the requirements for a particular research degree are advised to contact the Graduate School admissions office prior to making an application.

English language requirements

The minimum English language entry requirement for research postgraduate research study is an IELTS of 6.5 overall with at least 6.0 in each component (reading, writing, listening, and speaking) or equivalent (please contact the AHC PGR Admissions Team for information about alternative English language qualifications accepted by the School). The test must be dated within two years of the start date of the course in order to be valid. A degree from a country in which English is the primary language can be considered valid evidence of English language qualifications provided that it is no more than two years old at the time of the proposed start date.

Stage One

Apply for a research programme of study by completing the online application form by 8th March 2022 5pm.

A complete application MUST include:

  • Copies of all transcripts and degree certificates
  • Research proposal
  • Sample of written work
  • English language evidence
  • Two academic references. These must be submitted to ahcpgradmissions@leeds.ac.uk by 8th March 2022.
  • If English is not your first language, you must provide evidence that you meet the Faculty’s minimum English language requirements.

Stage Two

Then complete the Scholarship application form also by 5pm on 8th March 2022.
