University of Madrid PhD Fellowships in Spain 2015.


The Autonomous University of Madrid, as the coordinating institution of the PhD program in Theoretical Chemistry and Computational Modelling, funded under the framework of the Innovative Training Networks of the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions, offers 15 fully-funded 3-year PhD fellowships in 12 different institutions. The application deadline is 15 April, 2015.

  • The research projects are focused on three fields:
    Molecular materials: to design new materials with special properties that open new applications in nanoelectronic, nanomagnetism, gas-sensing, gas separation or catalysis.
    Biomelecules at the frontier for new therapies: To extend the modelling techniques of biomolecules to new problems in the frontier of physics, chemistry and biology by treating the interaction with photons for the design of photostable drugs or new photosensitizers for cancer phototherapies or by treating the interaction with ions to design new methods for structural characterization, or the interaction with highly charged heavy ions for cancer treatments.

Eligibility: The eligibility for University of Madrid PhD Fellowships in Spain 2015 are as under :

Candidates must have:
-Bachelor degree on Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Biological Chemistry or Biochemistry.
-A minimun of 60 ECTS credits in a Master degree or equivalent in Chemistry, Physics, Material Science, Biochemistry or Biological Chemistry.
-A minimun of a B2 english level (according with the Common European Framework) and preferably with a C1.

  • Citizens of Spain can apply for these fellowships.

  • The research projects are focused on three fields:
    -Molecular materials: to design new materials with special properties that open new applications in nanoelectronic, nanomagnetism, gas-sensing, gas separation or catalysis.

    -Energy: to design more efficient compounds for photovoltaic organic cells and to design new materials for energy storage.

  • There are 15 fully-funded PhD fellowships.

  • Fellowships are offered for 3-years.

  • Fellowship covers:
    -A 3 year European Joint Doctorate with cross-disciplinary thesis research in a vibrant, international scientific environment.
    -Supervision and mentorship by a team of internationally renowned experts.
    -Advanced training opportunities (scientific, skills, career) in English.
    -The fellowships are funded under an Innovative Training Network.

  • To apply, the candidate has to fill the online form and attach some documents listed in the documents section. In the application form, you will have to choose 3 projects from the list of the projects offered in order of preference. You have to keep in mind that you have to fulfill the Mobility Rules for the projects choosen.

  • As we said above, during the application you will have to choose 3 projects from the list. This means that with one application form you are applaying for three projects so it is not necessary send an application for each of them. Besides, the maximun of project in which you can apply are those three.


Tips

  • Before apply, you have to take into account that you accomplish with the mobility rule for each project choosen.

  • In section projects of the form, you have to write the acronym of the projects ESR1, ESR2, ESR3, etc.

  • Be careful writing your email address, it is used to send you a confirmation email, if you do it in a wrong way you won’t receive it.

  • Remember that the way in which you have to upload the corresponding documents is explained in the documents section which is in the left side menu.
