Are you a student passionate about Japanese industrial sectors, EU-Japan cooperation, and global economics? The EU-Japan Centre for Industrial Cooperation invites university students enrolled in EU-based institutions to apply for its competitive internship program in Brussels for the 2026 intake.
While the internship quota for 2025 has been reached, applications are now open for January 2026 onwards. If you want to boost your career prospects in international relations, industrial development, or Asia-Europe cooperation, this program could be your gateway.
Internship Overview
- Location: Brussels (Remote or hybrid option)
- Duration: Up to 4 months
- Eligibility: Students enrolled in EU-based universities
- Fields of Interest: Japanese industry, EU-Japan economic relations, research and development
- Stipend: €10 per day (expenses allowance)
Internship Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Advanced English proficiency (minimum C1)
- Japanese language proficiency at N3 or higher (N2 preferred)
- Strong interest in Japanese culture and EU-Japan industry cooperation
- University contract (compulsory or voluntary internship)
Intern Tasks and Learning Goals
As an intern, you will:
- Conduct research on Japanese industries and EU-Japan economic topics
- Assist in content updates for the EU-Japan Centre website
- Support additional tasks based on your interests and skill set
- Gain experience in an international, multicultural policy environment
Note: This internship is remote, but candidates based in Brussels may discuss in-office opportunities with the supervisor.
