Canon Foundation Research Fellowships, Europe.

Every year, the Canon Foundation in Europe bestows a maximum of 15 Fellowships to exceptionally qualified researchers from Europe and Japan. European awardees are expected to conduct research in Japan, while Japanese recipients are anticipated to carry out their research in Europe.

Canon Foundation Fellowships span from a minimum of three months to a maximum of one year, encompassing all fields of research without any limitations. Applicants need not be currently affiliated or employed at the time of application.

European Canon Fellows have the liberty to select their host institutes and hosts in Japan, and the same autonomy is granted to Japanese Canon Fellows who choose to research in Europe. Canon Foundation Research Fellowships can be sought once there's a mutual agreement on collaboration and a research plan between the visiting researcher and the potential host institution.

Moreover, submissions for these fellowships can also be made by individuals affiliated with commercial, industrial, governmental, or professional organizations.

About Canon Foundation:

The Canon Foundation, established with a commitment to fostering international academic exchange, plays a pivotal role in supporting research collaboration between Europe and Japan. Through its annual Fellowship program, the foundation awards up to 15 Fellowships to distinguished researchers from both regions. European recipients are granted the opportunity to pursue research in Japan, while Japanese fellows undertake their research endeavors in Europe. These Fellowships, spanning a minimum of three months to a maximum of one year, provide financial support and flexibility to researchers across all fields, without any limitations or restrictions on affiliation status. The Canon Foundation's emphasis on mutual understanding, cross-cultural cooperation, and the exchange of knowledge helps bridge the gap between continents and contributes significantly to advancing global research networks.

The Canon Foundation places priority on candidates embarking on their first research venture to Europe or Japan, aiming to facilitate impactful cross-border collaboration. With a focus on scholars who hold Master's or PhD degrees obtained within the last decade, the foundation also considers candidates whose qualifications extend beyond this timeframe, provided they furnish additional supportive details. By encouraging innovative research partnerships and facilitating the exchange of expertise, the Canon Foundation stands as a vital catalyst for fostering academic synergy and cross-continental intellectual growth.
