Eligibility Criteria:

To be considered for a Chevening Clore Leadership Fellowship, applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements:

  1. Intention to Return:

    • Applicants must have the intention to return to the country they were selected from at the conclusion of the fellowship period.
  2. Educational Background:

    • Hold a degree equivalent to at least a good UK second-class honours degree, or possess equivalent professional training and/or experience.
  3. Work Experience:

    • Have completed a minimum of five years of work or equivalent experience by the end of 2023.
  4. Minimum Requirements:

    • Meet the minimum requirements specified by the main fellowships scheme.
  5. English Proficiency:

    • Possess a good working knowledge of English, which will be assessed through the application form and potentially during the interview process.
  6. Citizenship Status:

    • Not hold British or dual British citizenship.
  7. Employment Restrictions:

    • Not be an employee, former employee, or relative* of an employee of His Majesty’s Government or associated entities, sponsoring UK university, British Council, or staff member of the Association of Commonwealth Universities.
    • *Immediate relatives are defined as parents or step-parents, siblings or step-siblings, children or step-children, spouse, civil partner, or unmarried partners who have been in a relationship akin to marriage or civil partnership for at least two years.
  8. Previous Financial Benefit:

    • Applicants who have previously received financial benefit from an HMG-funded scholarship or fellowship are eligible to apply after a five-year period following the completion of their first HMG funded award.
    • In such cases, applicants must demonstrate career progression from that point.
