Overview

The Arts International - International Foundation Programme at University College Cork is designed to equip international students with the essential academic skills needed to successfully transition into undergraduate studies in Ireland. This full-time, classroom-based programme spans seven months and culminates in the awarding of a Level 5 Specific Purpose Certificate in International Foundation Studies (QQI).

What you’ll study

The programme is structured into two semesters, each comprising 12 to 13 teaching weeks, followed by an examination period. Students can expect to engage in approximately 25 hours of study per week, focusing on core modules that include:

Entry requirements

Applicants should possess specific academic qualifications that may vary based on their individual profiles and intended progression routes. This programme is tailored for international students preparing for undergraduate education in Ireland. Generally, there are no GRE or GMAT requirements for entry.

Applicants must also meet English language proficiency requirements, typically demonstrated through an IELTS score of at least 5.0 overall, with a minimum of 5.0 in writing and no less than 4.5 in listening, speaking, and reading components.

Additionally, candidates are expected to be at least 17 years old at the time of application and will turn 18 by the end of the programme.
