Academic requirements
Entry into the MUFP is based on academic performance and fulfilling the programme's progression criteria. There are no specific GRE/GMAT requirements for this programme.
The Medicine Undergraduate Foundation Programme (MUFP) prepares international students for entry into Year 1 of partner Medicine degrees. If you meet the programme progression requirements (including the relevant interview and academic criteria), you may be able to progress to a five-year Medicine degree. If you do not meet the MUFP entry criteria, you may consider the Life Sciences UFP, which can provide progression pathways to selected six-year Medicine degrees at partner universities.
The Medicine Undergraduate Foundation Programme (MUFP) at the University of Nicosia is designed to equip international students with the essential skills and knowledge required for admission into Year 1 of partner Medicine degrees. Successful completion of the programme, along with meeting specific interview and academic criteria, enables students to progress into a five-year Medicine degree pathway.
For those who do not meet the MUFP entry criteria, an alternative pathway through the Life Sciences Undergraduate Foundation Programme (UFP) is available, leading to selected six-year Medicine degrees at partner universities.
The MUFP encompasses a comprehensive set of core modules, focusing on sciences relevant to Medicine, academic English, and quantitative skills. Depending on individual entry pathways, students may undertake either a standard MUFP or an Extended MUFP, which provides additional support in English.
Students entering through the Extended route will complete an additional English language module, followed by two semesters of standard MUFP coursework.

IELTS: A minimum overall score of 6.0 for the 2-semester MUFP, with no component below 6.0.
Extended MUFP: A minimum score of 5.5 IELTS or equivalent for the 3-semester Extended route.
Progression is contingent upon successful completion of the MUFP and meeting additional entry requirements of the partner university, which may include an interview process.
Upon successful completion of the MUFP and progression into a Medicine degree, graduates will be well-prepared for a variety of career paths in the medical field, including roles in clinical practice, research, and healthcare management. The foundational knowledge and skills acquired during the MUFP will serve as a strong basis for future academic and professional endeavors in Medicine.
