The International and Monetary Economics (MIME) Master’s program focuses on how monetary policy, central banking, and financial market regulation interact in an international setting. The International and Monetary Economics (MIME) Master’s program at the University of Basel is designed to equip students with a comprehensive understanding of how monetary policy, central banking, and financial market regulation interact on a global scale. This program emphasizes the development of quantitative and analytical skills necessary to critically evaluate policy decisions and engage in contemporary discussions in macroeconomics and finance.
The MIME Master’s program spans three semesters and comprises a total of 90 ECTS credits. The curriculum is structured into various modules that progress from foundational concepts to advanced specialization, concluding with a Master’s thesis.

To apply for the MIME Master’s program, candidates must possess a completed bachelor’s degree (180 ECTS) from a recognized institution, or an equivalent qualification, with a demonstrated strong background in quantitative methods.
