Benefits
Merit Scholarships for International Students
FDU provides merit-based scholarships to international students based on their academic performance. These scholarships are awarded at the time of admission and can be renewed annually, subject to certain conditions.
- FDU International Scholarship: Up to $24,000 per year, renewable for up to four years. It is based on academic merit, and SAT/ACT scores are not required.
- Global Housing Grant: $3,000 per year, renewable for up to two years for students living on the Metropolitan campus. This grant is awarded based on academic merit, financial need, and extracurricular involvement.
- FDU Family Grant: $1,500 per year for families with two or more dependent children simultaneously attending FDU. The grant is renewable for up to four years for undergraduates.
- Children of Alumni Grant: $1,500 per year for dependent children of FDU alumni. This grant can be renewed for up to four years for undergraduates.
Athletic Scholarships
- FDU also offers athletic scholarships to students with superior athletic ability who participate in the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I. These scholarships cover up to full tuition and housing and are available only at the Metropolitan campus, subject to Division I rules and regulations.
Transfer Student Scholarships
International transfer students are also eligible for scholarships at FDU.
- Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship: Recognizes the academic merit of transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society (PTK). This scholarship is renewable for up to two years.
- FDU International Transfer Scholarship: Up to $16,000 per year, based on academic merit and renewable with continued full-time enrollment.
Graduate Scholarships

Eligibility Criteria
To receive any FDU scholarship, applicants must meet the following conditions:
- Must submit a complete FDU application for admission.
- Scholarships are awarded at the time of admission only.
- Scholarship amounts do not increase after being awarded.
- Awards apply per academic year (Fall & Spring semesters only).
- Scholarships cannot be applied toward Summer semester tuition.
Renewable based on:
- Full-time enrollment
- Maintaining a strong GPA
- Remaining in good academic standing
- Meeting minimum criteria does not guarantee a scholarship.
- Subject to university rules, funding availability, and restrictions.
Application Procedure
Application Deadlines:
FDU follows annual rolling admissions, but scholarships are aligned with these fixed deadlines:
Fall Semester (August): July 1 every year
- Spring Semester (January): December 1 every year
- Summer Semester (May/June – limited programs): May 1 every year
For international students, FDU has a rolling admissions policy. Please allow 3-4 weeks for the application to be processed. All application documents and test scores may be scanned and uploaded to the FDU application portal or emailed to global@fdu.edu. Admitted students must submit official documents in sealed envelopes prior to arrival on campus.
