Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Kellogg Institute Faculty Visiting Fellowship, applicants must:
- Hold a PhD or equivalent terminal degree
- Be an assistant, associate, or full professor
- Conduct international research aligned with Global Democracy
- Demonstrate a strong scholarly record and research potential
- Possess advanced English language proficiency
- For non-U.S. citizens:
- Hold a valid passport
- Qualify for a J-1 Professor or Research Scholar Visa
Immigration Note: Scholars subject to the J-1 24-month bar must remain outside the U.S. for two years before returning under the same category.
Expectations of Faculty Visiting Fellows
- Residency: Fellows are expected to be in residence at Kellogg for the duration of the fellowship
- Presentation: At least one public presentation of current research is required
- Participation: Active engagement in weekly seminars, lectures, and Institute events
- Publication: Fellows are expected to publish research conducted during the fellowship and acknowledge Kellogg Institute support
