Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a country with a Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita of US$10,000 or less, based on World Bank data (refer to the official eligible country list).

  • Apply for and meet entry requirements for an Overseas Fee place in a bachelor’s degree.

  • Have completed:

    • Secondary school outside Australia, or

    • A foundation program in Australia.

  • Not have previously undertaken tertiary studies (excluding extension studies completed during Year 12)

Conditions of the Scholarship

Recipients must:

  • Comply with the University’s Coursework Scholarships Terms and Conditions

  • Maintain an average result of at least 70% per half-year study period

  • Meet ongoing academic requirements

The scholarship can be deferred to the following academic year if necessary.

  • Australian Foundation Studies: 97

  • International GCE A Levels: AAA*

  • AISSC / ISC / Indian State Board HSC: 96

  • Indonesian SMA/MA Diploma: 9.7

  • International Baccalaureate (IB): 40

  • Philippines Year 12 Diploma: 96

  • Sri Lanka GCE A Levels: AAA

  • US High School Diploma: 3.9 GPA + 1400 SAT or 30 ACT

  • Vietnam Graduation Certificate: 9.8

Note: Selection scores are reviewed annually and may change. Scholarships are not awarded based on predicted results.

Application Procedure

There is no separate scholarship application process.

Students are automatically considered if they:

  1. Apply for admission to an eligible undergraduate course at the University of Melbourne.

  2. Meet all eligibility and academic requirements.

When Will You Know the Outcome?

  • Successful applicants will receive a scholarship offer within two weeks of receiving their course offer.

  • Unsuccessful applicants are not notified.
