The Neufert Foundation Scholarship is a competitive, one-time financial award that supports talented students in architecture, urban development, and landscape architecture who are beginning and completing a Master’s degree. Established in 2007, the Neufert Foundation has continuously promoted academic excellence and creative originality in architectural education.
This scholarship is aimed at encouraging international academic mobility and supporting students with strong academic records and high-quality design portfolios.
About the Neufert Foundation Scholarship
The Neufert Foundation awards a one-time scholarship to outstanding Master’s students who demonstrate exceptional architectural quality, originality, and academic performance. The selection is made by the Foundation’s official bodies, and decisions are final.

If a student does not begin or interrupts the Master’s program without valid exceptional reasons, the scholarship amount must be repaid to the Foundation.

The scholarship supports:
Students who completed a Bachelor’s degree at a university in Germany and are starting a Master’s program at an international university
International students who completed their Bachelor’s degree abroad and are beginning a Master’s program at a German university
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants are assessed based on:
Architectural quality and originality of submitted academic work
Clear and well-structured motivation for selecting the Master’s program
Academic performance and overall Bachelor’s degree grade
Academic reference from a university professor
Quality, clarity, and completeness of the application
The evaluation order is determined solely by the selection committee.
Application Procedure
Required Application Documents
All documents must be submitted in German or English and include:
Motivation letter (cover letter)
Chronological CV with passport-size photograph
Notarized copy of the Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, including full academic transcript
Academic reference from a professor at the Bachelor-level institution
Explanation of the choice of Master’s program and university
Proof of admission or registration at the Master’s university
Portfolio with at least four academic works, including the Bachelor thesis (printed in DIN A4 format only)

Applications must be submitted by post. The postmark date is considered valid. Applications sent by registered mail are not accepted.

Post-Study Requirement
After completing the Master’s program, scholarship recipients must submit:
A printed copy of their Master’s thesis documentation
A digital version of the thesis
