University of London Goldsmiths Sanctuary Scholarship 2026 , UK (Fully Funded)

The Goldsmiths Sanctuary Scholarship (formerly known as the International Response Scholarship) is a fully funded opportunity for refugees and asylum seekers in the UK who wish to pursue higher education at Goldsmiths, University of London.

This scholarship reflects Goldsmiths’ commitment to widening participation and supporting students whose education has been disrupted due to conflict, persecution, or forced displacement.

  • Postgraduate Taught (Master’s Degree)

Up to 4 scholarships available

  • 2 for undergraduate students

  • 2 for postgraduate taught students

Benefits

Successful applicants will receive comprehensive financial support, including:

  • Full tuition fee waiver for each year of study

  • Annual living allowance of £8,825

  • Accommodation support:

    • Single study bedroom in Goldsmiths halls of residence

    • Covered up to £200 per week

This package allows recipients to focus fully on their studies without financial stress.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the Goldsmiths Sanctuary Scholarship, applicants must:

  • Have refugee status in the UK or an active asylum application

  • Hold an offer for an undergraduate or taught postgraduate degree at Goldsmiths

  • Be enrolled in an in-person (on-campus) programme

  • Be legally eligible to study in the UK

  • If on Immigration Bail, have no restriction preventing study

  • Upload supporting immigration documentation to their MyGoldsmiths account

Note: Applicants from Ukraine seeking refuge in the UK under Home Office special arrangements are also eligible for consideration.

    How to Apply

    1. Secure an Offer
      Apply for and receive an offer for an eligible undergraduate or taught postgraduate programme at Goldsmiths.

    2. Complete the Scholarship Application
      The Sanctuary Scholarship application form will be available online once applications open.

    3. Upload Supporting Documents
      Provide proof of refugee or asylum status via your MyGoldsmiths account.

    4. Apply for Accommodation (Optional)
      If you wish to live in Goldsmiths halls, submit a separate accommodation application and mention in the notes that you are applying for the Sanctuary Scholarship.

    The selection process is competitive and holistic, designed to fairly assess applicants from diverse backgrounds.
